Therapeutic Massage
Everyday life evolves around work and activities, which in some cases can lead to stress. This is a common problem in many people and one way to help this is to relax, take time out for you and forget about all the other things around you.
This is where massage routines and aromatherapy come in. The benefits of massage are rewarding for your body and also your health by acting directly on the body's muscular, nervous, circulatory and immune systems.
Aromatherapy oils can be used in massage to restore the harmony of the body and mind. Essential oils are harnessed from plants, flowers and resins and are easily absorbed by the skin. As these essences are evaporated during massage they are also inhaled via the millions of sensitive cells in the nasal passage. These cells send messages to the brain and therefore enhance both physical and psychological well-being.
Massage therapy is aimed to:
- Develop and maintain your physical function.
- Relax tense muscles.
- Relieve or prevent physical dysfunction and pain.
- Improve circulation and immune system functionality.
- Reduce stress.
- Relax the mind
- Improve blood flow
- Increase overall feeling of well being
Massage therapy will take place in a quiet room, with the client lying down on a massage couch. The client can remain clothed, apart from the area(s) of the body receiving massage. A treatment can take anything from 20minutes to around an hour.
